Balboa BP Troubleshooting Guide | |
Andi’s Top Tip – The BP7 is a great replacement spa pack and can replace any VS or EL system. Remember out of the box you may need to configure it to work with the hardware you have – there is a video below to explain this |
*If a 24 hour circulation pump is being installed, it must have no less than a 23 GPM flow. Laing, Grundfos or Waterway Tiny Might pumps do not perform at this rate and cannot be used.
Balboa BP7 Spa Pack In Review
For me, this is my “go to” Spa Pack. I use it in pretty much all of my DIY built hot tubs over at buildahottub.com and also in any refurbishment projects that I am doing.
What I like about this pack is its versatility. It can replace pretty much any Balboa Spa Pack that is inside of a Hot Tub. If you are on an older tub that doesn’t have a “TP” control pandel, you may need to upgrade your topside controls too, (it works with any TP or SpaTouch Topside) but there are some really well prices bundles on the Balboa BP7 with the TP600 Topside Control (which is also my topside of choice) too. At under $500 for a topside and a new spa pack, this is fantastic value.
The Balboa BP7 is Versatile
The spa pack itself can have up to 4 jet pumps plus a Circulation Pump in its configuration. With up to 32 different configurations, there is a setup that is going to work for you.
If you are looking for a replacement spa pack, regardless of the brand you have in your tub already, this is the model you should be looking at. The price coupled with the functionality in my mind, there is not a better spa pack out there on the market.
When you receive your Balboa BP7 Spa Pack
When you receive your Spa Pack, it is set to Setup #21 normally which is a dual speed pump only. On most cases, you will need to program the pack which is really straight forward.
Pop DIP1 up, on the topside (if TP400 or TP600) press, Warm, Warm, Light, Warm, keep pressing Warm until you hit the setup number you need, then press light to save it. Drop DIP1 down and you are good to go – it is that simple.
Of course, give me a shout if you get stuck doing this and I can walk you through it.
