🔘 Balboa VL404 Topside Control Panel (4-Button Rectangular LED, Without Overlay) — Compatible with Balboa Duplex Digital “E6” Spa Pack Systems

Genuine Balboa Water Group LED replacement panel — premium control with patented Piezo switch technology.

📋 Product Overview

The Balboa Water Group VL404 is a 4-button rectangular topside control panel with a vibrant LED display and dedicated heat indicator light, designed for spas running Balboa Duplex Digital “E6” spa pack control systems — Balboa’s internal designation “E6 DIG DUPLEX”. With its generous 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular footprint (matching the LCD-based VL402) and approximately 2-3/4″ depth, it’s one of Balboa’s largest and most feature-rich VL panels — featuring patented Piezo electronic switch technology and Balboa’s unique potting techniques that eliminate moisture intrusion in harsh spa environments.

This listing is for the panel without overlay — ideal for spa technicians, OEM hot tub builders, and homeowners who plan to transfer their existing button overlay or order an overlay sticker that matches their spa’s exact configuration. The VL404 supports a wide range of layouts: 10307 (4-button: Temp Set/Blower/Jets/Light) for the most common pump+blower configuration, 10418 (4-button: Temp Set/Jets 1/Jets 2/Light) for 2-pump spas, and 10352 (3-button: Set/Jets/Light) for simpler single-pump setups.

This is the genuine Balboa Water Group OEM panel — also widely used as a direct replacement for an unusually long list of legacy spa-brand part numbers across Cal Spa, ThermoSpas, Leisure Bay Industries, Master Spas, Morgan Spas, OMEGA, Bull Frog, Majestic Spas, and many more. Compatible with Balboa Duplex Digital circuit boards including 54003 and 54161 Value Series boards. Comes with the standard 7-foot cable and 8-pin phone-style RJ45 connector. Choose the VL404 (G8244) for LED display systems; for LCD-display variants of the same physical panel, choose the VL402 (G8242) instead.

How to Verify Compatibility:

📍 Check your spa pack circuit board — look for 54003 or 54161 part numbers, or “Duplex Digital E6” labeling 📍 Check that your existing topside cable has an RJ45 8-wire connector — looks like an Ethernet/network cable plug 📍 Compare your old topside dimensions to 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular (approximately 2-3/4″ deep) 📍 Verify your existing display type is LED, not LCD — VL404 is LED only 📍 Look for any of the older part numbers stamped on the back of your existing panel — many older numbers consolidate into the VL404 (G8244) 📍 Identify your spa’s pump configuration (1 pump + blower vs 2 pumps) to choose the right overlay 📍 Contact Parts4Tubs with your spa pack model number if you’re unsure

⚠️ Important — VL404 vs VL402 LED/LCD distinction: The VL404 (G8244) and VL402 (G8242) share the same 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular body and same RJ45 connector, but differ in display technology. The VL404 has an LED display (segmented digits, often red/amber, very bright) while the VL402 has an LCD display (gray pixel-based readout). Match your existing display type — installing the wrong variant will not function as expected.

🔘 Button Functions & Display

The VL404 has 4 physical buttons. The labels and active functions depend entirely on which overlay sticker is applied. Common Duplex Digital LED overlay layouts include:

4-Button Pump + Blower Layout (Balboa Overlay 10307 — Temp Set / Blower / Jets / Light):

Button	Function
Temp Set	Adjust set water temperature
Blower	Air blower on/off
Jets	Jet pump on/off and 2-speed cycle
Light	Spa light on/off

4-Button 2-Pump Layout (Balboa Overlay 10418 — Temp Set / Jets 1 / Jets 2 / Light):

Button	Function
Temp Set	Adjust set water temperature
Jets 1	Pump 1 on/off and 2-speed cycle
Jets 2	Pump 2 on/off
Light	Spa light on/off

3-Button Single-Pump Layout (Balboa Overlay 10352 — Set / Jets / Light):

For simpler single-pump configurations, the 4th button position is covered by the overlay and remains inactive:

Button	Function
Set	Adjust set water temperature
Jets	Jet pump on/off and 2-speed cycle
Light	Spa light on/off
(4th position)	Covered by overlay — inactive

Display Information:

Display Element	Shows
LED segmented digits	Current and set water temperature (°F)
Heat indicator light	Dedicated LED — illuminates when heater is active
LED indicators	Pump, blower, and light active states
Mode indicators	Standard / Economy / Sleep mode status
Filter cycle	Filtration status
Error codes	Diagnostic codes from the spa pack

📌 The dedicated heat indicator light gives owners immediate visual confirmation that the heater is running, separate from the main LED temperature display. Combined with bright LED segmented digits, the VL404 offers excellent low-light visibility — a key reason owners often prefer LED topsides for hot tubs used in evening or outdoor settings.

🛠️ Installation Guide

Before Installation:

• ⚠️ Disconnect power at the GFCI breaker before any work
• ⚠️ Confirm your spa pack is a Balboa Duplex Digital “E6” system (look for 54003 or 54161 board, or E6 designation)
• ⚠️ Verify the 7-foot cable will reach from the topside cutout to the spa pack — order an extension if needed
• ⚠️ Confirm your existing display is LED (not LCD) — VL404 is LED only
• ⚠️ Have your replacement overlay ready (or carefully transfer the existing one)
• ⚠️ Confirm the panel depth (~2-3/4″) clears any obstructions behind the cutout

Installation Steps:

1. Turn off power at the GFCI / disconnect serving the spa
2. Open the spa cabinet and locate the topside RJ45 cable on the spa pack
3. Disconnect the old cable from the spa pack’s RJ45 jack — press the small plastic tab and pull straight out
4. Remove the old topside from the spa shell cutout
5. Carefully transfer the existing overlay to the new panel (or apply your new overlay sticker — align carefully over the button positions, LED display window, and heat indicator window)
6. Route the new cable through the cabinet to the spa pack
7. Plug the new RJ45 connector into the spa pack’s topside port — the tab should click into place
8. Apply silicone sealant around the panel edge if recommended by your spa manufacturer
9. Mount the new topside in the spa shell cutout — press firmly into place
10. Restore power at the breaker
11. Test all functions — every active button on your overlay, plus verify the LED display lights up clearly and the heat indicator activates when the heater cycles on

Mounting:

Requirement	Specification
Panel size	7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ (rectangular)
Panel depth	Approximately 2-3/4″
Mounting type	Drop-in / surface-mounted with sealant

⚠️ Professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended if you’re unfamiliar with spa electronics. All work must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes.

⚡ Wiring & Connection

Connector Information:

Specification	Detail
Connector Type	RJ45 8-Wire (8-Pin Phone Plug / Ethernet Style)
Cable Length	7 ft standard
Extension Available	Yes — Balboa 8-conductor RJ45 extension cables in various lengths

Connection Location:

Plugs into the dedicated RJ45 topside port on Balboa Duplex Digital "E6" spa packs.
The connector looks like a standard Ethernet / network cable plug.
A small plastic latch holds the plug in place — press to release.

⚠️ Never force the connector. The RJ45 plug should slide in cleanly with a click. If it doesn’t fit, your spa pack is likely a BP, EL, or GL series (which use Molex connectors instead) — verify before proceeding.

🔍 Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

Problem	Possible Cause	Solution
Blank LED display	No power or loose connection	Verify breaker on; reseat the RJ45 plug at the spa pack
Error codes shown	Spa pack issue (sensor, flow, heater)	Refer to your Duplex Digital E6 manual for code meanings
Wrong button functions	Overlay doesn’t match spa configuration	Order a different overlay layout to match your pump/blower setup
Wrong display type	VL402 (LCD) installed where VL404 (LED) is needed	Verify model — VL404 is LED, VL402 is LCD; same panel size but different displays
Heat indicator never lights	Heater fault, wiring issue, or burned-out LED	Check heater operation at the spa pack first
Heat indicator stays on always	Stuck relay or sensor issue	Check spa pack diagnostics
Aux/Blower button doesn’t work	Spa pack not configured for blower	Check spa pack DIP switch or configuration

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the overlay included? A: No — this listing is for the topside panel only, without the overlay sticker. You can either transfer the overlay from your existing panel or purchase a function-specific overlay separately. The most popular VL404 overlay is 10307 (4-button: Temp Set/Blower/Jets/Light for pump + blower spas). Other options include 10418 (4-button: Temp Set/Jets 1/Jets 2/Light for 2-pump spas) and 10352 (3-button: Set/Jets/Light for single-pump spas).

Q: How do I know which overlay I need? A: Match the overlay to your spa’s pump and accessory configuration:

• 1 jet pump + air blower → overlay 10307 (most common Duplex Digital LED layout)
• 2 jet pumps → overlay 10418 (Temp Set/Jets 1/Jets 2/Light)
• 1 jet pump only → overlay 10352 (3-button: Set/Jets/Light)

If you’re unsure, send Parts4Tubs a photo of your existing topside.

Q: What’s the difference between VL404 and VL402? A: They share the same physical panel size (7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular) and connector type (RJ45 8-wire), but use different display technologies:

• VL404 (G8244) — LED display (segmented digits, often red/amber, very bright) — for Duplex Digital E6 systems
• VL402 (G8242) — LCD display (gray pixel-based readout) — for VS/GS Z-series + Duplex Digital LCD systems

If your existing panel has bright glowing segmented digits, you need the VL404 (this panel). If it has a gray pixel-based LCD readout, you need the VL402.

Q: How is the VL404 different from the smaller VL403? A: Both are LED-display Balboa VL panels, but different sizes and target architectures:

• VL403 — 6-3/8″ × 2-1/4″ rectangular, for Lite Duplex Digital (“E4 LT DIG”) systems
• VL404 — 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular (larger), for Duplex Digital (“E6 DIG DUPLEX”) systems

The VL404 has more buttons spacing, larger LED display, and supports a more advanced (E6) Balboa architecture than the VL403’s E4 Lite system.

Q: How is the VL404 different from the BP-series TP topsides (TP200W, TP240, TP500S, etc.)? A: Different control architectures entirely:

• VL404 uses an RJ45 8-wire (Ethernet-style) connector and works with Balboa Duplex Digital E6 spa packs
• TP-series topsides use a 4-pin Molex connector and work with Balboa BP series spa packs

They’re not interchangeable — your spa pack must be designed for one or the other.

Q: What is “E6 DIG DUPLEX” or “E6”? A: “E6 DIG DUPLEX” (also written “E6 Digital Duplex”) is Balboa’s internal designation for the 6th generation of their electronic Duplex Digital control architecture. The “E6” indicates the generation of the spa pack electronics, and “DIG DUPLEX” stands for “Digital Duplex” (supporting two pumps, or one pump plus a blower). The VL404 is the LED topside designed for this architecture.

Q: What circuit boards work with this topside? A: The VL404 is verified compatible with Balboa Duplex Digital circuit boards including 54003 and 54161 Value Series / pressure switch compatible boards. It’s also used as the topside for the SUV M7 Control system (52531-03). If your spa pack uses one of these boards or a similar Duplex Digital E6 architecture, the VL404 is the matching topside.

Q: Can I use this as a replacement for my Cal Spa, ThermoSpas, Leisure Bay, Master Spa, Morgan, OMEGA, Bull Frog, or Majestic spa topside? A: Most likely yes — the VL404 is one of the most widely-deployed OEM topsides among premium spa manufacturers using Balboa Duplex Digital LED systems. Confirmed cross-references include:

• Cal Spa ELE09200520
• ThermoSpas 1900D (51403)
• Leisure Bay Industries Celebrity Series (51225)
• Master Spas MAS425
• Morgan Spas MOR100 (50908)
• OMEGA OML4 (52918)
• Bull Frog BULF65 (52183)
• Majestic MAJ200R1

Verify your spa pack architecture and panel dimensions before ordering.

Q: How do I know if this fits my spa? A: Check your spa pack — it should be a Balboa Duplex Digital “E6” system (look for circuit boards 54003 or 54161). Your existing topside cable must have an RJ45 (Ethernet-style) connector. Your existing display must be LED (bright segmented digits, not gray LCD). Your spa shell cutout should match the 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular footprint with approximately 2-3/4″ of depth behind it. If those check out, this will fit.

Q: My old part is one of the older Balboa numbers (51223, 51225, 51248, 51403, 54145, etc.). Will the VL404 replace it? A: Yes — the VL404 is the modern consolidated replacement for one of the longest legacy part number lists in the Balboa VL family, including 51223, 51225, 51248, 51403, 51419-01, 51420, 51436, 51629, 51631, 51672, 51765, 51794, 52183, 52522, 52825, 52918, 53181, 53185, 54145, 55155, 50831, 50908, plus kit references 34-51223-K and many cross-references like 30-175-1020, 611490, 9705-07, 9705-14, 23385. If your existing panel is a 4-button rectangular LED topside with an RJ45 connector and matches the 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ footprint, the VL404 (G8244) is almost certainly the right replacement.

Q: My spa has a 25-foot topside cable instead of the standard 7 feet. Will this still work? A: Yes — the older Balboa 52825 was the 25ft cable variant of the VL404 panel. The current G8244 ships with the standard 7ft cable, but you can pair it with a Balboa 8-conductor RJ45 extension cable to achieve longer reach if your installation requires it.

Q: What is “Piezo electronic switch technology”? A: Piezo switches are a Balboa-patented switch design that uses piezoelectric crystals to detect button presses without moving parts. This means the switches don’t wear out from mechanical use, are highly resistant to moisture intrusion, and provide consistent tactile feedback over the panel’s lifetime. Combined with Balboa’s potting techniques (which seal the internal electronics from spa-environment moisture), this gives the VL404 superior reliability versus standard membrane-switch topsides.

Q: What’s the cable length? A: The cable is 7 feet long with an RJ45 8-wire connector. If you need more reach, Balboa offers RJ45 extension cables in various lengths.

Q: Will this work with my 120V or 240V spa? A: Yes — the topside itself runs on low-voltage signal from the spa pack, so it works regardless of whether your spa pack is wired for 120V or 240V service.

Q: My old part says G8244 — is this the same? A: Yes. G8244 is the manufacturer part number for the VL404 LED without overlay. This listing is the direct equivalent.

Q: My spa only has 3 buttons on the existing overlay. Can I still use this 4-button panel? A: Yes — the VL404 physically has 4 buttons, but it’s designed to work with both 4-button and 3-button overlays. Using a 3-button overlay (like 10352) leaves the 4th button position covered and inactive. The overlay determines which buttons are visible and labeled.

Q: Can I install this myself? A: If you’re comfortable safely shutting off power at the GFCI breaker and working inside the spa cabinet, DIY installation is straightforward — RJ45 plugs are easy to handle and only fit one way. If you’re not comfortable with electrical work, a licensed electrician is recommended for NEC and local code compliance.

Q: What warranty is included? A: This part carries a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty from Balboa Water Group. Contact Parts4Tubs for full warranty terms.

Q: Do you ship across the US? A: Yes — Parts4Tubs ships to all 50 states with fast US delivery.

Its generous 7-3/8″ × 3-1/4″ rectangular footprint matches the LCD-based VL402, but with a vibrant LED display and dedicated heat indicator light that deliver superior visibility in any lighting condition. Patented Piezo electronic switch technology and Balboa’s unique potting techniques eliminate moisture intrusion in spa environments. RJ45 8-wire connector, 7-foot cable, and choice of overlays (10307 for pump + blower, 10418 for 2-pump, 10352 for 3-button single pump). Verified compatible with 54003 and 54161 Value Series circuit boards. Used as the factory-original or factory-equivalent panel on Cal Spa, ThermoSpas (1900D), Leisure Bay (Celebrity Series), Master Spas (MAS425), Morgan (MOR100), OMEGA (OML4), Bull Frog (BULF65), and Majestic Spas. Consolidates 25+ legacy Balboa part numbers into one modern SKU — the most extensive cross-reference list of any VL panel. Important: VL404 is LED only — for LCD readout, use the VL402 (G8242) instead. Same panel size as VL402, different display technology and target spa pack architecture. Balboa BP Spa Packs

If you have a “BP” spa pack, you will find the name and model on the label, then you can use any of the “TP” range of topside controls, TP400, TP600 etc etc.

You can also use any of the “Spa Touch” graphical controllers on your Spa Pack. Spa Touch comes in versions 1-3 with 4 to be released very soon as well as the new “mini”.

The BP Spa Pack made things nice and easy so when you are replacing your topside control with one of these, it is straight forward enough.

Balboa VS & GS Spa Packs.

If you have an older hot tub that you are keeping alive with new parts, then the chances are you have an older spa pack in there too. This is where it gets a little more complicated in terms of compatibility.

Two of the popular models are the VS which stands for Value Series and was supplied to a lot of OEMs (manufacturers for hot tubs) to go into their tubs. Likewise, the GS (global series) was the same. Lots of different rebranded options, different names, but at the heart of things are these two packs.

What is key on these two models, is the combination of letters and numbers that make up the model number on the Spa Pack.

The VL range of topside controls was designed for both of these spa pack ranges; however, there are some “rules” we need to abide by in terms of compatibility.

VL Panels ending in D work with VS/GS systems ending in DZ

VL Panels ending in S work with VS/GS systems ending in SZ

The rest of the VL Panels work with VS/GS systems ending in Z (not SZ or DZ)

For example, a Spa Pack model VS501SZ would work nicely with a Topside that is model VL620S. However, that same topside control would not work with a spa pack model VS501Z. The connections are the same, it would plug in, but would not respond at all.

Another example, a Balboa GS500Z spa pack would work with the VL406T or the VL401 but would not work with the VL702S.

You get the patters. Topside ends in S or D, matches to Spa Pack ending in SZ (for S) or DZ (for D).

Balboa EL & GL Spa Packs

Before the birth of the BP range, the EL and GL Spa Packs did have some level of standardisation in terms of the topside controls.

All of the “ML” range of Balboa Topside Controls are designed to work with the EL and GL range of spa packs. They actually look very similar to the TP range, they just have a different type of connection to plug into the Spa Pack.

What is a Hot Tub Topside Control?

A Hot Tub Topside Control, also known as a spa control panel or topside controller, is a user interface located on the outer surface of a hot tub or spa. This control panel allows you to interact with and manage various functions of your hot tub, such as adjusting the temperature, activating jets and pumps, setting filtration cycles, controlling lighting, and more. It serves as the command center that puts the power of customization at your fingertips, enabling you to create the perfect spa experience tailored to your preferences.

Typically equipped with a digital display, buttons, and possibly a touchscreen, a topside control panel provides an intuitive and user-friendly way to operate your hot tub. Some advanced models may even offer wireless connectivity, allowing you to control your hot tub remotely through a smartphone app.

The rest of this page covers what a topside control does, how it talks to the circuit board in your spa pack, and whether you can upgrade to a different panel.

How does a Topside Control Work?

A Hot Tub Topside Control, often equipped with a digital display and user-friendly buttons, is the primary interface that allows you to interact with and control various functions of your hot tub. Here's how it works:

1. User Interface: The topside control panel is mounted on the exterior of the hot tub, usually within arm's reach when you're seated inside. It features a digital screen that displays relevant information such as water temperature, pump status, and timer settings.
2. Menu Navigation: The control panel presents a menu system that you navigate using the buttons or touchscreen. This menu system provides access to different functions and settings of your hot tub.
3. Temperature Adjustment: One of the key functions of the topside control is temperature regulation. You can adjust the water temperature to your desired level, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing soak.
4. Pump and Jet Control: Through the control panel, you can activate and control the operation of various pumps and jets in your hot tub. This includes turning jets on or off, adjusting their intensity, and controlling the filtration system.
5. Lighting and Auxiliary Features: Many hot tubs come with additional features such as underwater lighting, waterfalls, and music systems. The topside control allows you to manage these features, creating an ambiance that suits your mood.
6. Timer and Programming: Modern topside controls often have programming capabilities, allowing you to set timers for filtration cycles, heating, and other functions. This automation ensures that your hot tub is ready for use when you want it.
7. Error Messages and Diagnostics: In case of any issues or malfunctions, the topside control panel can display error codes or messages. This helps you identify problems and communicate them to technicians for faster and more accurate repairs.
8. User Profiles: Some advanced topside controls offer the option to save user profiles. This is particularly useful if multiple people use the hot tub, as each person can have their preferred settings readily available.

In essence, the topside control serves as the bridge between you and your hot tub's various systems. It allows you to customize your hot tub experience, control its functions, and maintain optimal performance with ease. When it comes to replacing one, the part number matters far more than the look of the panel. A topside has to suit the pack it plugs into and the software that pack is running, so two panels with the same button layout are not necessarily interchangeable. Check the back of the panel first, then the label inside the control box next to the circuit board — the number is usually on one or the other. Note the plug type as well, because the cable and pin count vary between systems.

Can I upgrade a Topside Control?

Yes, you can upgrade a topside control on your hot tub to enjoy enhanced features and improved functionality. Upgrading your topside control can offer several benefits:

1. Advanced Features: Newer topside controls often come with advanced features that may not be available on older models. These features could include improved user interfaces, touchscreens, customizable settings, and compatibility with smart home systems.
2. Ease of Use: Upgraded topside controls may offer a more intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it easier to navigate through menus, adjust settings, and control various functions of your hot tub.
3. Energy Efficiency: Some upgraded controls offer energy-saving modes or programmable timers, allowing you to optimize the operation of your hot tub's components and reduce energy consumption.
4. Compatibility: If you've added new features or components to your hot tub since its original purchase, an upgraded topside control may be necessary to fully integrate and control these additions.
5. Error Detection and Diagnostics: Modern topside controls often have improved diagnostic capabilities, which can help you identify and address issues more efficiently. This can save you time and money on repairs.
6. Remote Access: Certain upgraded topside controls can be connected to mobile apps or home automation systems, allowing you to control your hot tub remotely. This can be especially convenient for preheating your hot tub before you arrive home.
7. Customization: Upgraded controls may offer more customization options, allowing you to tailor your hot tub experience to your preferences, such as personalized user profiles.

What is a Hot Tub Keypad Overlay?

A hot tub keypad overlay, also known as a spa control panel overlay, is a protective and decorative component used in hot tubs and spas. It typically consists of a thin, clear or colored piece of material, often made of durable plastic or silicone, that is designed to cover and protect the control panel or keypad of the hot tub.

Here's what a hot tub keypad overlay does:

1. Protection: The overlay acts as a protective barrier for the underlying control panel or keypad. It shields the sensitive electronics and buttons from exposure to water, chemicals, UV rays, and physical damage, such as scratches or abrasions. This helps extend the lifespan of the control panel.

2. Enhancement: Many overlays are designed with labels, graphics, and button outlines that enhance the appearance of the control panel. They often include icons or text that provide clear instructions for operating the hot tub, making it user-friendly, especially for those who may not be familiar with the hot tub's functions.

3. Customization: Hot tub keypad overlays can be customized to match the branding or style of the hot tub manufacturer. They may feature the manufacturer's logo, model name, or specific design elements. Some hot tub owners choose to customize overlays to add a personal touch to their spa.

4. Ease of Cleaning: The overlay is easier to clean and maintain than the underlying control panel. Spills, dirt, or chemical residues that come into contact with the overlay can be wiped away without affecting the control panel's functionality.

5. Replacement: Over time, keypad overlays may wear out or become damaged due to exposure to harsh spa conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy and cost-effective to replace when needed, allowing you to refresh the appearance of your hot tub's control panel.

When replacing a hot tub keypad overlay, it's essential to choose one that is compatible with your hot tub's make and model to ensure that the button layout and functions match the original control panel. This compatibility ensures that the overlay fits correctly and accurately represents the hot tub's settings.

In summary, a hot tub keypad overlay serves as a protective, decorative, and informative layer for the control panel, enhancing the user experience and prolonging the life of the hot tub's control system.

How do you replace a hot tub keypad overlay?

Replacing a hot tub keypad overlay is generally a straightforward process that can be done with some basic tools and careful attention. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to replace a hot tub keypad overlay:

Tools and Materials Needed:

• New keypad overlay (ensure it's compatible with your hot tub model)
• Screwdriver (usually a Phillips-head)
• Mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol
• Soft cloth or paper towels

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Turn Off Power: Start by turning off the power to your hot tub. This is essential for safety reasons.

2. Access the Control Panel: Depending on your hot tub's design, you may need to remove a cover or panel to access the control panel. Use a screwdriver to remove any screws or fasteners holding the cover in place.

3. Remove the Old Overlay: Carefully peel off the old keypad overlay. Begin at one corner and gently lift it away from the control panel. Take your time and be cautious not to damage the control panel or its components.

4. Clean the Control Panel: After removing the old overlay, use a soft cloth or paper towel and a mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol to clean the control panel's surface. This step ensures that the new overlay adheres properly and looks clean.

5. Prepare the New Overlay: Ensure that the new hot tub keypad overlay is clean and free of any dust or debris. If the new overlay has an adhesive backing, remove the protective film to expose the adhesive.

6. Align and Apply the New Overlay: Carefully align the new overlay with the control panel. Make sure it matches the button layout and design of the control panel. Begin by aligning one corner and gradually press the overlay onto the control panel's surface, working your way across. Smooth out the overlay to prevent air bubbles or wrinkles.

7. Secure the Control Panel Cover: If you had to remove a cover or panel to access the control panel, reattach it using the screws or fasteners you removed earlier.

8. Turn On Power: Once the new overlay is securely in place, and the control panel cover is reattached, turn the power back on at the main circuit breaker.

9. Test the Keypad: Test the keypad buttons to ensure they function correctly. Press each button to verify that it corresponds to the correct function on the hot tub.

10. Final Cleaning: After installation and testing, wipe down the new overlay with a clean, dry cloth to remove any fingerprints or residue.

You've now successfully replaced your hot tub's keypad overlay. Make sure to use a compatible overlay, and exercise caution during the replacement process to avoid damaging the control panel.
